Privacy policy

We collect as little as we can get away with. This page explains what we store, why, and how to get it removed.
What we collect
Account data: name, email and a salted scrypt hash of your password. We never store passwords in plain text and cannot recover them for you.
Listing data: the product details you submit, including the website URL, which is displayed publicly.
Boost data: the email used for the receipt, bid amount, placement window and the Creem checkout and order identifiers. Card details are entered on Creem's hosted checkout and never reach our servers.
Usage data: aggregated page views per listing, and a signed cookie that remembers which products you have upvoted so one person cannot vote twice.
Cookies
We set two first-party cookies: a session cookie to keep you signed in, and a vote cookie to prevent duplicate upvotes. We do not run third-party advertising trackers. Payment pages are hosted by Creem and subject to their cookie policy.
How we use it
To operate your account, publish and rank listings, process boost purchases, issue receipts, prevent abuse, and send the newsletter if you asked for it. We do not sell personal data and we do not use your listing content to train models.
Processors
We share the minimum necessary with: Creem (payments, tax, invoicing), our hosting provider, and our email provider for transactional mail. Each is bound by a data processing agreement.
Retention and your rights
Account and listing data are kept while your account is active. Payment records are retained as long as tax law requires. Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete your data, or to object to processing. Email privacy@hotaibuild.com and we will respond within 30 days.
International transfers
Our infrastructure and processors may store data outside your country, including in the United States and the European Union. Where required, transfers rely on standard contractual clauses.
Children
The Service is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their personal data.
